Grief spans far and wide

Washing up melancholy feelings

As unabating as the tide

Let anguish wash over you

Gentle as the rain

I promise one day this downpour

Will feel more like a drizzle

That brings forth peace and not pain

Eventually echoes of the past

Will fall on ears

Happy to hear their sound

Joyous at the recollection of

A connection lost but still found

A connection at once

Fortified through the

Veil of Death, and

made even more profound
